Job Overview:

Oversee the barn area by coordinating stall assignments with the Barn Area Supervisor. Work closely with racing participants to ensure compliance with all barn area rules and regulations. Assist the Maintenance team in the cleaning of stalls and any other maintenance tasks that might be needed to keep the barn area safe. Compile reporting for racing department relative to stall usage. Ensure a safe and well-maintained barn area at all three NYRA properties.

Essential Functions:

Assist in the process of assigning stalls;
Assist in the distribution of stall applications and stall allotment Letters;
Handle complaints/issues arising from trainers and owners in the stable area;
Post horse ins and outs;
Assist in the maintenance of departmental files and records;
Conduct monthly count of horses per track.

Qualifications:

Education (minimum): High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 5-7 years working in the horseracing industry, preferably in the backstretch area.

Other Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of horse racing schedules and logistics.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with people of diverse backgrounds & personalities.
Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, internet and email.

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This job requires being in and around the barn area and near horses.

Pay Range / Salary:  $24.00 - $27.55
