Job Overview:

The Sr Benefits & Compensation Generalist role is responsible for analyzing processes and data by extracting and analyzing complex data from various data warehouse environments. This position identifies and reports on trends and patterns found within the data and makes recommendations for business and process improvement. This position will work with business users to understand requirements and expectations for permanent and ad hoc requests, to meet the analytical data needs of the business. This role is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing new and revised compensation programs that align with the company’s goals and competitive practices. This position ensures that the company’s compensation programs are fair, and equitable and are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

Essential Functions:

HR Analytics
• Oversee and maintain the function of the organization’s internal HR information services systems, which may include database management, network support, installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.
• Oversee and maintain internal database files, tables, codes, backup files, integrity, and security.
• Work with our HR vendors and install, implement, modify, and upgrade software and applications to meet changing business and technology.
• Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR employees.
• Oversees the procurement of appropriate hardware and software to ensure that the organization has high-quality, efficient systems.
• Works with the HR team and different departments to create and execute regular data audits. Identifies and implements controls and validation measures to ensure data integrity. Supports day-to-day reporting needs including training, demonstrations, ad hoc reporting, etc.
• Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, motivate, and retain employees, address staffing issues, and maintain legal compliance.

Employee Benefits
• Ensure NYRA is compliant with required federal and state filings such us EEO-1, OPEB, 5500 SARs, FLSA & 401knondiscrimination testing, PBGC, ACA, and RDS.
• Ensure the proper employees receive the proper coverage. Reconciliation and payment of benefit invoices.
• Ensure CBA benefit compliance. Support Finance by providing accurate benefit cost analyses and projections.
• Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency measures for benefit plan administration.
• Maintain and provide records to Internal and External Audit as required, such as the yearly KPMG audit.
• Hold pension and 401(K) committee meetings.
• Manage the SERP payment process.


Compensation
• Manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
• Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and NYRA objectives.
• Provides advice to HR staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
• Design creative solutions for specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
• Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
• Oversees participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.

Other
• Seek to identify process improvements, improved internal controls, and savings opportunities.
• Manage incoming reporting requests and provide ad-hoc project support and analysis as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
Education (minimum): bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Six (6) plus years of project management and/or related HR experience. Benefits, Compensation, and data analytics knowledge are required.
Other Requirements: SPHR certification is a plus.

Standard office working conditions

Pay Range / Salary: $85,000-92,000
