Job Overview:

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) is seeking a dynamic, committed, Horsemen’s Relations Manager to join our team. In this exciting role, you’ll help shape and develop an enhanced Horsemen’s Relations program to create an unparalleled experience for horse owners, trainers, and jockeys throughout the Saratoga and Belmont race meets. This position promotes best-in-class hospitality and allows you to be a champion for horse men and women racing at all NYRA tracks. This well-qualified individual should thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong decision-making skills to quickly address problems and obstacles as they arise. This position is onsite during live race days at both Saratoga Race Course and Belmont Park. Prior experience in the horse racing industry is required.

Essential Functions:

• Contributes to the development and implementation of an elevated Horsemen’s Relations program
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide exceptional hospitality to all racing participants and enhance race day event experiences.
• Leads processes to strengthen guest service initiatives and supports organizational objectives.
• Provides mentorship to junior team members, sharing insights and best practices to improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2-3 years in customer service or hospitality. Horse racing knowledge required.

Preferred Skills: Racing Industry Knowledge, Troubleshooting (Problem Solving), Customer Advocacy, Process Improvement, Communication Skills, Detail-Oriented, Relationship Management, Analytical Skills

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The Horsemen’s Relations Manager position is primarily onsite during live race days, requiring occasional prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the property. The role involves occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 25 pounds, frequent use of hands for clerical, organizational, and hospitality tasks, and navigating stairs or uneven surfaces. The work environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and guest-facing, often requiring multitasking, working under time-sensitive conditions, and interacting with high-profile clientele while maintaining professionalism and composure. Outdoor exposure is expected due to race day activities, with varying weather conditions.

Pay Range / Salary:  $84,000.00 - $126,000.00
