Job Overview:

The Track Supervisor directs and controls the activities of employees who are responsible for operating equipment to groom and prepare the dirt racetrack for racing, which involves operating graders, pay loaders, water trucks, and other equipment; Operates graders to ensure the proper and precise track grading; Ensures the proper maintenance and availability of all racetrack equipment; Maintains an inventory of supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available to meet anticipated workload.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs and controls the activities of employees who are responsible for operating equipment to groom and prepare the racetrack for racing, which involves operating graders, pay loaders, water trucks, and other equipment; and raking, mowing grass, and shoveling various materials as required.
  • Plans and assigns work to employees on a daily basis; Checks and evaluates work to ensure that it is completed on time and in accordance with established quality standards; Coordinates work with other areas; Addresses and resolves disciplinary problems informally. Recommends overtime as needed; Develops and recommends options to improve workforce efficiency or the quality of work completed; Ensures compliance with established safety standards and other operating policies and procedures.
  • Screens prospective hires; Evaluates and makes reports on the performance of new employees during their probationary period; Recommends continued employment or dismissal; Counsels employees about work-related issues and assists employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.

    • Trains employees on the use of heavy equipment, such as graders, pay loaders, and back hoes; Demonstrates proper techniques and safety regulations.
  • Operates graders by making depth adjustments to ensure the proper and precise track grading; Reports on track surface areas which may be unsafe.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance and availability of all racetrack equipment by reporting repairs that are necessary.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available to meet anticipated workload and items are in usable condition.
  • Notifies management of work-related complaints, accidents and injuries in order to verify problems, and to recommend appropriate responses/solutions.
  • May perform the duties of other Facilities Foreman as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education (minimum): High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience with heavy equipment with some supervisory responsibility.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to operate heavy equipment

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This is a physical role and involves working outdoors in all types of weather.

Pay Range / Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 per annum
