Job Overview:
The Box Office Representative’s main responsibilities include selling and suggesting all available ticket types to patrons entering or inside Saratoga Race Course using any applicable ticket software. Ticket types can include, but are not limited to admission, seating, dining, and premium hospitality. Additionally, the Box Office Representative will identify and troubleshoot any ticketing problems that may arise, demonstrate a helpful understanding of general track information, and always deliver exceptional customer service.
Box Office Representatives can be assigned to work covering one of the three following areas:
- Dining Sales
- Luxury Seating Sales
- Box Office / Will Call Booths
Essential Functions:
- Sell, upsell, and suggest ticketing options to on track patrons;
- Identify and troubleshoot ticketing problems;
- Greet and welcome patrons to the track;
- Maintain and distribute will-call tickets to patrons regularly;
- Maintain and handle an accurate cash bank daily without shortage/overage;
- Learn and use any applicable ticketing software;
- Demonstrate a helpful understanding of general track information;
- Deliver exceptional customer service;
- Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Racing schedule workdays (Wednesday – Sunday) PLUS Labor Day (Monday, September 2nd);
- Approximately 35 hours per week scheduled;
- Approximate shift times (depending on racing) – 10AM to 6PM;
- 30-minute scheduled lunch breaks (6-hour shift minimum);
- Travers Day – 6AM report time.
Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This is a primarily sedentary role with no special physical requirements.
Pay Range / Salary: $18 to $20 per hour
