Job Overview:

The purpose of this job is primarily to produce shows or portions of broadcasts airing on Fox Sports. Responsible for creating runs of show, executing shows in control room. This position may also be asked to assist with elements regarding NYRA’s simulcast and social media production.

Essential Functions:

  • Produce shows or portions of shows including preparing a rundown and executing show in production control rooms.
  • Creating graphic and video elements and checking them for accuracy.
  • Participate in production meetings.
  • Creating feature content and overseeing the production of such content.
  • Ensure that all paid sponsor elements and commercials air accordingly in each show.
  • Progressively creating new segments for shows.
  • Assist with day-to-day production of NYRA TV’s broadcast content, including simulcast feed, web or app shows.
  • Coordinate between talent and production crew in terms of preparing videos, graphics and making sure such elements are ready for broadcast.
  • Work with other producers to ensure the shows run smoothly and are cohesive. This includes coordinating feature ideas and storylines.
  • Work with TV Crew Production Supervisor and tech team to ensure that all NYRA TV projects are staffed and equipped appropriately.
  • Coordinate video shoots with horsemen and videographers in terms of time, place, material, etc.
  • Work with NYRA Bets marketing team and graphics supplier so that betting promotions are being properly discussed and displayed.
  • Assist with talent and engineering staff when needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education (minimum): Associate or Technical degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a live production environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a sports and entertainment atmosphere, a major plus

Knowledge Required:

  • Familiar with equipment utilized in live TV production
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Thoroughbred racing industry
  • Must be able to operate a computer, mobile phone and tablet; some knowledge of editing software is helpful
  • Good understanding of television production terms.
  • Ability to setup a television show with video and graphic elements.

Communications:

  • Must communicate well with different members of the NYRA TV team, including engineers, producers, production crew and talent.
  • Ability to communicate with horsemen and racing officials.

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Primarily sedentary in nature with no special demands required.

Pay Range / Salary: $108,000-$131,000
